Vitamin B12 Wake Up Group
It's a free private group and a great place to ask questions
Woohoo! We've reached our first target of raising £2.5K to allow us to submit our training programme to the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) for accreditation, which we hope to have ready for submission shortly.
Now we need to keep that momentum up to continue raising the much needed funds to ensure that we can provide our training to health professionals for free!
If you'd like to help us achieve this goal, any donation you can make, no matter how big or small, will be very much appreciated.

VIKKI'S MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Vikki McIntee ran a total of 100 miles throughout the month of May to raise much needed funds for The B12 Society.
Being diagnosed with a B12 deficiency in October 2019, after more than 3 years going back and forth to doctors with various symptoms including severe nausea, unexplained skin rashes, dizziness, fainting and nerve damage, which had begun to impact hugely on her daily life, Vikki decided to raise awareness of the condition by training hard and running the Loch Ness Marathon planned for October 2020. However, as Coronavirus would have it, the marathon was cancelled leaving Vikki wondering what to do instead.
So, determined to make a difference, Vikki decided to challenge herself to run 100 miles during the month of May! Using her daily lockdown allowance, she stormed it, completing her first 50 miles within 10 days and completing a full marathon on her last day finishing off her 100 mile challenge on the 22nd of May, with the amazing support of her football coach Ryan Davidson by her side.
This challenge for Vikki was far from easy, with the ongoing daily impact of her B12 deficiency, she pushed her body harder than we would usually recommend. However with sufficient injections bringing her back up to workable levels, Vikki is "over the moon" with her achievements, as are we!
Having set an initial target of raising £350, Vikki amazed us all with her fundraising efforts, and with the generous donations from her family and friends she actually achieved over £700. This is a great contribution towards the cost of submitting The B12 Society's training programme to the RCGP, with the aim of gaining accreditation for the course.
The programme is close to being completed, and is expected to be ready for submission to the RCGP later this year.
